Although classes are still in full swing online, these next four weeks may leave both students and professors with extra free time. During this stressful time, it is important to take time to catch up on your favorite Netflix show or read that book you have only been a chapter into for the past year.
No matter your mood or personal preference, Netflix always has something. If you are looking for something funny and laid back, try “That 70’s Show,” “The Office,” or “Parks and Recreation.” These are great options to put on in the background while doing homework or to watch before bed.
ISU student Heather Buckles recommends “Nailed It!” because “I enjoy shows that I don’t have to pay attention to but still know what’s going on.”
Like many other baking shows, it can inspire viewer creativity.
“I have even considered trying to go on it,” said Buckles.
This baking show has over four seasons, each with a different theme. This is a great choice if you like reality television.
Are you into thrillers? Then the show “You” is a great choice. It is truly a nail biter with stalking, love and murder all in one. You can also find Oscar winning films such as “Marriage Story” and “Irishman” on Netflix as well.
Comedians like John Mulaney and Joe Rogan are always a way to lighten your mood. If you are into mysteries try the shows “Jane the Virgin”or “Mindhunter,” or the Netflix Original movie, “Murder Mystery.”
We all have a stack of books at home waiting to be read. This is the time to finish them, or at least start them. Reread the Harry Potter series for an easy choice or start one of the newest bestsellers, “The Starless Sea” by Erin Morgenstern.
Have a long drive coming up? Both Apple Music and Spotify also offer podcasts. A few popular ones include “Radiolab,” “The Daily,” and “Conan O’Brian Needs a Friend.” Whether you’re going on a road trip or just for your daily commute, podcasts can be very entertaining.
Remember in these next four weeks to find time for yourself. Whether it is listening to your favorite podcast for the fifth time or starting a new show on Netflix, it is important to relax during this stressful time.
