March Through the Arch

Welcome to the start of a new academic year!  Welcome back to all those students, staff, and faculty who are returning to campus.  To those who are new to campus, welcome to Indiana State University!  I hope you quickly realize what I like best about ISU: the people.

We have amazing students who use their talents and energy in the classroom, in experiences like internships, laboratories, and other hands-on opportunities, and in the community where they work hard to make lasting improvements.  We have amazing staff and faculty who care about our students and each other.  They are dedicated to student success and to their communities.

This fall will be a bit different than what we had hoped for, but two things will help us have a successful semester: creativity and care.  Our collective creativity will allow everyone to still have many of the experiences that make ISU so special.  Our collective care in ensuring we follow public health safeguards, both on campus and while off campus, will help keep everyone healthy.

I have no doubt about the strength of the Sycamore community!  Best wishes on a successful year!
