TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State football alum Dominique Dafney has been signed to the Green Bay Packers practice squad, the team announced Monday.
Dafney, a West Des Moines, Iowa native, was a dominate playmaker for the Sycamores in 2019, accounting for seven touchdowns. He was named Second Team All-MVFC at fullback as well as to the MVFC All-Newcomer Team after stepping into flex role as the team transitioned to the wildcat in the second half of the season.
He ranked second on the team with 439 rushing yards and recorded the fourth-best individual rushing performance in program history after a 244-yard outburst that included five total touchdowns at Missouri State to conclude the season. He totaled 15 catches for 196 yards and 635 all-purpose yards on the year.
Dafney joins fellow Sycamore Robert Tonyan Jr. with the Packers. Tonyan has had a career season in 2020, catching five touchdowns, including three touchdowns on Monday Night Football one week ago.
Initially, Dafney signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent, but he was waived the following week.
