The Indiana State softball team fell short at the Chattanooga Challenge in Chattanooga, Tenn over the weekend as they lost four out of five games. The Trees are now 3-6 overall.
The Indiana State baseball team played their first three games of the season and found out that a complete turnover in personnel leads to struggles across the board. ISU finished the first stint of the Snowbird Classic, a two-weekend round-robin tournament in Port Charlotte, Florida, and fell flat on both offense and defense.
The Indiana State women’s basketball team is coming off a bittersweet weekend as they defeated the Northern Iowa Panthers, 65-63, Thursday, but fell to the Drake Bulldogs, 92-71, the following Saturday.
The Sycamore track & field teams had a productive day at the Hoosier Hills meet, taking home six individual victories to go along with several personal-best performances.
Wednesday the Indiana State men’s basketball team traveled to Peoria, Ill., and fell 72-61 to the 17-9 Bradley Braves. Coming into this season Bradley was one of the teams picked to finish high in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Sycamore softball will head to Chattanooga, Tennessee Feb. 14 for its second tournament of the season. ISU went 2-2 in their first tournament in Boca Raton, Florida.
Following a 43-18 record and a Missouri Valley Conference Championship win in 2019, the Indiana State University Baseball team is ready to start up the 2020 season with the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida. The Sycamores season came to an end last year after a 12-1 loss to College World Series Champion the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Conference play continues as the Indiana State women’s basketball team faces the Northern Iowa Panthers Thursday. UNI is 14-8 overall with a middling 6-5 conference record. The Panthers easily handled ISU at home, winning the first meeting of the season 73-43.
In its 125th season, one of the biggest struggles for the Indiana State men’s basketball team is playing on the road. The Sycamores have two wins on the road this season and one of those wins happened to be a 78-68 win in Springfield, Missouri against Missouri State on Feb. 1.
