The Indiana State women’s basketball team will play in the first round of the 2020 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament against the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers tonight at 5 p.m. This is a rare year for ISU because the Sycamores will be bringing a full team of players who have never played in the MVC tournament. 

March Madness is one of the craziest times of year, especially for people betting serious money on their brackets. I will not be betting any money, but I do have my predictions. 

The 8-6 Sycamore baseball team will host the 9-6 Michigan State Spartans Friday for a doubleheader that will open a three-game series between the two squads. The last contest will be played Sunday. 

Undefeated in the underrated Atlantic 10 conference, the Dayton Flyers have blown away all expectations finishing with a 29-2 record in the regular season. Despite being underdogs to some, the Flyers are the best team coming into the NCAA tournament and will have a great opportunity at grabbing the 2020 NCAA Championship.

The Indiana State men’s basketball team will be putting it all on the line this weekend in St. Louis, Missouri at the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. The Sycamores fell to Valparaiso in their first contest of the tournament last year by 22 points, even after defeating them in the regular season. 

Indiana State women’s basketball team will return home Thursday and Saturday to match up against two conference teams, Bradley and Illinois State. ISU is coming off a huge victory against the Evansville Purple Aces after suffering from a three-game losing streak. The Sycamores are 5-23 on the season and 3-13 in the Missouri Valley Conference. 

The Indiana State softball team will be traveling to Memphis, Tennessee this weekend for the Memphis softball tournament. The Sycamores will be competing against the Memphis Tigers, Belmont Bruins, Youngstown State, Butler and Western Carolina. Friday ISU will be going against the Tigers at 2 p.m. then will battle the Belmont Bruins at 6:30 p.m. 

The Indiana State baseball team had a clean sweep after traveling to Elon, North Carolina for their first weekend series against Elon last weekend. 

A new era is set to take place in Indiana State University athletics as they will introduce a new university athletics logo on Mar. 3. The event is open to the public as it will take place 11 a.m. in the Heritage Ballroom in Tirey Hall. 

The Indiana State women’s basketball team will have a tough weekend as they face two conference opponents in the Southern Illinois Salukis and the Missouri State Bears.

The Indiana State softball team concluded its third tournament of the season in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The Trees performed admirably, finishing the tournament 2-3.
