The Indiana Statesman is the campus newspaper serving the Indiana State University campus and surrounding community since 1879. The paper is an editorially independent newspaper operating within ISU Student Media and is entirely student written, produced, and managed. Publishing of a daily newspaper is one of the oldest student traditions at Indiana State.

The Indiana Statesman is a member of Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Advisers, College Newspaper Business and Advertising Managers, and Indiana State Press Association. Students, faculty and staff rely upon The Indiana Statesman for up-to-date news, sports and entertainment coverage, locally and nationally.

October 27th marked the annual Tip-Off in the Forest for the Indiana State Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. This event is summed up best as a way to get the players' recognition before the season begins, have a great time, and get the fans involved.
