The Indiana Statesman is the campus newspaper serving the Indiana State University campus and surrounding community since 1879. The paper is an editorially independent newspaper operating within ISU Student Media and is entirely student written, produced, and managed. Publishing of a daily newspaper is one of the oldest student traditions at Indiana State.

The Indiana Statesman is a member of Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Advisers, College Newspaper Business and Advertising Managers, and Indiana State Press Association. Students, faculty and staff rely upon The Indiana Statesman for up-to-date news, sports and entertainment coverage, locally and nationally.

SPECTRUM hosted a walkout at the fountain on Indiana State University’s campus Friday. The walkout lasted from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in order to raise awareness against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation raised in 2022, and was part of walkouts being hosted across the United States.
