Philip Glende joined Indiana State University in 2012 as head of the Student Media department. He has taught reporting, communication law, and journalism history at ISU and also taught at North Central College in suburban Chicago. His research has been published in several academic journals. Previously, he worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for more than 25 years. He received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota - Duluth, and his Master’s and Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Outside of Student Media he enjoys cooking, biking, swimming, reading, listening to music and watching old movies.

Sharon K. Ellis is the Administrative Assistant for Student Media. She graduated from ISU where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Radio/TV/Film and Communications. While attending ISU, Sharon worked at WTHI-TV and Radio. Sharon comes from an ISU-oriented family as both of her parents were ISU graduates as well as her brother and her oldest son. Before coming to work for ISU, Sharon enjoyed several years working for the Vigo County School Corporation as an Educational Assistant with the Special Education Department. Sharon also enjoyed many years as a stay-at-home mom to her three children. Her favorite spare time activities include sharing time with her children, reading, watching old movies, knitting, scenic drives, and spending many peaceful hours at Shakamak State Park.
Rich Green has been a part of ISU Student Media since 2013 as General Manager of WISU-FM and WZIS-FM. He greatly enjoys being an influence in the road to success for all of his students. He likes seeing the growth and progress of the students as they learn the basics of live radio. Rich attended Illinois State University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Media and Master’s degree in Communication. He was also a former Afternoon Drive host in Bloomington, IL. In his free time he enjoys playing slow pitch softball, collecting old school video games, attending music festivals and concerts, and also “Game of Thrones.”
Jeff Larson joined ISU Student Media in 2019 as the Student Digital Media Manager. He enjoys working with students and helping them succeed in the classroom as well. Jeff attended Menlo College in Atherton, CA where he not only earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, concentrating in Media Management, but was a part of the men’s basketball team that qualified for the 2008 NAIA National Championship Tournament. Jeff then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Digital Media at Valparaiso University. Prior to coming to Indiana State, he was a Video Production Manager at Cameron University in Lawton, OK. In his free time, Jeff enjoys video games, attending wrestling events and music concerts, going to the movies, and hanging out with friends.
Eric Mangum joined ISU Student Media in 2020 as the Sports Video Manager. He enjoys working with students and training them in various behind-the-scenes roles of live game productions. He attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in Sports Journalism from the Sports Capital Journalism Program at IUPUI. Prior to coming to Indiana State, Eric worked as the Director of New Media and Broadcasting at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with friends, family, and his dog, Wrigley, as well as attending concerts, playing pickup basketball and watching sports.
Stacey McCallister is the Business Manager for the Indiana Statesman student newspaper and The Sycamore yearbook at Indiana State University. She has been with ISU for 22 years and also attended college here. Her husband Tom and sister Lisa also work here and both her daughters graduated from ISU. Stacey enjoys working with students, and likes seeing the excitement of them fulfilling their goals and growing as a student. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading and watching college and pro football and basketball.
Martha Milner provides ISU Student Media with guidance and instruction for our campus newspaper, the Indiana Statesman, and our yearbook, The Sycamore. Martha came to ISU in August 2014, however, she has been advising students since 1995. Martha received a Bachelor’s degree in English/Communication from Clinch Valley College (now the University of Virginia’s College at Wise). She then earned her Masters of Education degree from the University of Virginia. She received the Student Affairs Dedication to the University/Department/Division Award in 2010, the Jan Phillips Mentoring Award from ETSU in 2001 and 2007, and the Virginia Press Association Award in 1986. Her favorite part of her job is helping students grow and develop as journalists and professional communicators. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, walking, watching movies, knitting and sewing, and also playing with her two dogs.
As Student Video Production Manager, Jeffrey supports and directs his students with film and video production opportunities to help prepare them for their future. He has been with ISU for over 19 years and enjoys working hard to prepare his students for the professional world. Jeff has many years of experience in production, including being a Cameraman for the “Cats” Broadway musical arena tour, a Production and Promotion Manager for WBAK Fox 38, and a Producer, Director and Videographer for an advertising agency. Jeff attended ISU where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Radio/TV/Film Production. He is a member of Alpha Epsilon Rho broadcasting society, Phi Kappa Phi honor society, and Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Outside of the production world, he enjoys sports, exotic cars, movies and landscaping.
Marisa Combs is the Editor-in-Chief for The Sycamore Yearbook. She is from Milan, Indiana, where the movie Hoosiers took place. Marisa is pursuing her Masters degree in Human Resources. After graduation, she hopes to work for a non-profit organization.
Chris Poindexter currently lives in Clinton, IN. He is pursuing a Master of Science Degree in Sport Management. He is also the Director of Communications for REX Baseball in Terre Haute. He hopes to work in Media or Marketing for a sport organization.
Lincoln Schlemmer is the Sports Video Coordinator for ISSN. He is from Crawfordsville, Indiana. Lincoln is pursuing a Master's degree in Communication. He wants to work in broadcasting after graduation.
