World Hijab Day happens on Feb. 1. In celebration, Duaa Malibari, the graduate assistant for the International Student Resource Center, hosted a table in the Commons.
The table provided information on World Hijab Day as well as giveaways. Lujain Alaufi, a volunteer with Multicultural Services and Programs, and Bre Pierce, the Women’s Resource Center graduate assistant, also helped with the table.
Pierce made a post on Facebook later on that day, saying, “World Hijab Day is a day to learn about the importance of the hijab while experiencing what it means to wear it through the day. We stand with our friends who wear hijabs. Hijabs are beautiful and so are the people who wear them.”
