Every year, International Women’s Day is held on March 8 as part of Women’s History Month, which is throughout the entirety of March.
Indiana State University’s Multicultural Services and Programs had a table in the Hulman Memorial Student Union on Monday from 12:00-1:00 pm to celebrate the event. At the table was Graduate Assistant of the Women’s Resource Center, Lilly Howard, and Graduate Assistant of the International Student Resource Center, Duaa Malibari.
Students were welcome to take a carnation in honour of International Women’s Day as well as information on other events and services offered by the Multicultural Services and Programs.
“International Women’s Day is meant to celebrate women who have achieved great things, as well as all women in general,” Howard explained when asked about what International Women’s Day is.
The next event being offered by MSP is another installment of the Inspiring Women series on Tuesday, March 9, 2021. The event will run from 4:00-6:00 pm Eastern Time on Zoom. More information on it can be found at https://www.indstate.edu/event/inspiring-women-series-0.
Students with any questions about MSP or their services can contact Howard at email@example.com.
