On March 11, Indiana State hosted its second annual Give to Blue Day, a 24-hour online fundraising event.

On March 9, Professor Biniyam Yemane presented his research on Medicaid Expansion and the Opioid Epidemic. His motivation for this project is the increasing severity of opioid overdoses, which are now the leading causes of injury-related death. 

Being on a college campus and taking the precautions to stay healthy can be tough. Students eat whatever is available, even if it isn’t the healthiest option. Most students aren’t aware that regularly consuming food lacking key nutrients has a much more detrimental effect than many realize.

Indiana State University’s Give to Blue Day is a 24-hour fundraising initiative taking place March 11. The event will run from midnight to 11:59 p.m. Students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members are encouraged to support the University at any level they’re able to.

ISU may be taking the steps to becoming a smoke-free campus in the next few months. 

Indiana State will have $3.1 million available in donor-funded scholarships and endowed programs in the next academic school year. This is a 24% increase from the prior academic year. 

Following a months-long effort to simulate disease outbreak responses using the board game Pandemic, Dr. Nathan Myers and students Gage Atwood and Jason Collins showcased their inventive research project to Indiana State University faculty and students in an open seminar Tuesday afternoon.
