“Black Adam” is the latest release in the DC cinematic universe. It stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam. The film also features other notable characters, such as Atom Smasher, Dr. Fate, Cyclone, and Hawkman.
All these characters are pretty enjoyable. I didn’t necessarily dislike any characters, but they could have been utilized better, like Atom Smasher. He was just there for comic relief when he had much more potential.
I did feel that Dr. Fate and Hawkman were portrayed well. I liked their scenes and thought they were cast incredibly well. Pierce Brosnan was the perfect casting for Dr. Fate, and he was my favorite character in the movie.
Black Adam was a weak character in the film. Not power-wise but characterization-wise. They could have done better, but it was at least passible.
My least favorite character was this kid named Amon. I have talked to other people who saw the movie and they agreed that Amon just got annoying. Granted, I do not believe it is the actor’s fault, he was just working with the flawed script he was given.
The action in this film was my favorite part. They did an excellent job at displaying how powerful Black Adam is. The slow-motion sequence during the beginning was great, minus the use of Paint It Black, it was kind of corny.
The score was also just alright. Again, it is nothing notable but at least it'spassible.
I give the cast an 8/10. They did the best they could with the script they were given.
Overall I liked the movie. I went into it for a goofy superhero movie where we watch a guy destroy things and be somewhat of an edgelord. I give “Black Adam” a 7/10.
