Thousands of new students make the residence halls of Indiana State their home each year. With hoards of anxious students, loads of luggage and tearful goodbyes, Move-In day can be hectic and stressful. However, the New Student Transition Program dedicates itself each year to helping students make the change to dorm life. Parking lots become well-oiled loading zones, with Welcome Team members present to answer any question and carry belongings. Inside the residence halls, ResLife employees check in students and guide the young Sycamores to their dorms. Refreshment tents spring up to provide cool beverages in the summer heat. The mission to provide a positive experience for new students doesn’t end. Even as the last freshman unpacks their bags, the New Student Transition Program is already planning for the next Move-In Day frenzy. Cheers to smooth transitions.
